The Emergency Management Director
- Develops and updates annually the Locally Emergency Operations Plan that will enhance the county’s emergency response capabilities
- Facilitates regular Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) meetings
- Researches and facilitates grant opportunities related to emergency preparedness
- Plans and implements required full scale and tabletop exercises and drills. This includes documenting the results of exercises and events to provide corrective action that will improve response.
- Communicates with FEMA and SEMA for Federal and State involvement in planning and responding to emergencies and disasters.
- Contacts areas of the county impacted by weather related emergencies. Assists with recovery efforts. Communicates with utility companies when outages occur.
- Attends training and conferences related to emergency management.
