First day for candidate filing for the August 4, 2026 Primary Election is February 24, 2026 at 8 am. Last day to file for candidate filing for the August 4, 2026 Primary Election is March 31, 2026 at 5 pm.

August 4, 2026 General Municipal Election Information

Last day to register to vote in the August 4, 2026 election is July 8, 2026. 

Absentee voting for the August 4, 2026 election starts June 23, 2026. The first day for in person no excuse absentee voting begins July 22, 2026. Absentee voting may be done in the County Clerk’s office during regular business hours, 8:30 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 4:30 pm. The Holt County Clerk’s Office will also be open Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 8 am to 12 pm for absentee voting as well.
